Rapid Cold Dimension Prediction After Forging
The alpha.hot3D laser measuring system provides micrometer-accurate predictions of cold dimensions within seconds of forging. This enables immediate verification of the forming process, ensuring quality control from the very first produced parts. If deviations occur, adjustments can be made instantly, optimizing efficiency and reducing waste.
Advanced 3D Laser Measurement for High-Temperature Forged Components
Designed for inline production environments, the alpha.hot3D system measures entire 3D contours of forged parts at temperatures up to 1200°C. Its high-precision laser sensors capture complete shape data, allowing for accurate cold-dimension calculations with a precision starting at ±25 μm.
Key Features and Benefits of alpha.hot3D:
- Seamless integration into the production line
- Tabletop unit capable of measuring hot specimens up to 1200°C
- One-button operation with intuitive status display
- Full 3D scanning with precision laser sensors
- Cold-dimension prediction accuracy starting at ±25 μm
- Customizable inspection plans with an expandable feature library
- Flexible data output options (CAQ systems, qs-STAT, and more)
- Automated measuring equipment monitoring according to MSA method 1
Inline Measurement Directly at the Forging Press
The measuring cell is installed directly on the working platform of the forging press. As hot-forged parts exit the press, they are placed into the measuring system, which initiates the scan with a single button press. Within seconds, the system determines whether the part meets specifications, providing a visual display of component characteristics and a target vs. actual comparison. Once measured, the part can seamlessly re-enter the process flow.
