New camber gage system for roughing mills - Better control, better quality.
In hot strip mills, camber is a key indicator of product quality. If excessive, it can cause major problems downstream in the finishing mill.
Traditionally, centerline deviation tracking cannot differentiate between actual bar shape and lateral movement - limiting its usefulness for corrective actions.

A new camber gage system now provides true bar shape measurement during rolling in the roughing mill. It delivers precise curvature data, enabling better operator decisions and automated corrections.

The system supports two measurement applications:
- True Bar Shape
- Strip Steering
